This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Conferro collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Conferro platform, including our websites, applications, and related services. We aim to keep this short and readable.
1. What we collect
- Account information: name, email, role, country, phone number, and the profile details you provide.
- Consultant verification data: for consultants, identity and credential documents (e.g. ID and licenses) submitted for verification.
- Consultations & messages: bookings, case content, chat messages, reviews, and documents you upload.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store transaction metadata (amounts, status, references) — not full card numbers.
- Usage & device data: log entries, IP address, browser and device information, and cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service running.
2. How we use it
We use your information to operate and improve the Platform: creating and securing your account, matching clients with consultants, processing bookings, payments, and payouts, enabling messaging, sending transactional emails and notifications, reviewing disputes, preventing fraud and abuse, and complying with our legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share data with the consultant or client you transact with, and with service providers (“sub-processors”) that help us run the Platform:
- Stripe — payment processing and payouts
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Cloudflare R2 — document and file storage
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — application hosting and database
- Vercel — frontend hosting and delivery
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Conferro, our users, or the public. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (secure, httpOnly session cookies) and basic analytics needed to run and improve the service. You can clear cookies through your browser, but doing so will sign you out and may limit functionality.
5. Data retention
We retain account and transaction data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your rights & choices
You can update your profile and change your password from the Profile page at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights or request account deletion, email privacy@conferro.app.
7. International transfers
Conferro and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable law.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and secure storage. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.
9. Children
Conferro is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-product before they take effect.
